Curriculum

At Manchester Road we believe we have a broad and balanced curriculum which engages and excites the children. It’s a curriculum which is part – designed by the children, and has a strong focus on applying skills across different subjects.

Each year there are 3 whole school overarching themes, and it’s within these that teachers plan and deliver great learning.

As well as the year overview, we also use project – based learning in mathematics, which encourages children to develop those skills which can be used in everyday life.

Below are the curriculum overviews for all year groups.

If you require a paper copy, or more information about our curriculum, please feel free to contact Miss Leah, Mrs Simpson or Mrs Pearson at school and we will provide you with information or a matrix for the year! 0161 370 3079

MFL

Through the teaching of the La Jolie Ronde scheme of work, children will be able to understand simple spoken and written language, speak aloud and take part in short conversation and write simple sentences in French. They will also learn about the French culture and have an idea about how languages work and how to learn them. We are confident that through the delivery of ‘La Jolie Ronde’ scheme of work that our children will become confident learners of language.
