Hi everyone!

First of all, thanks to everyone who handed in their reading books this week. Remember, due to Covid restrictions we are only allowed to change reading books on a Wednesday (the same day you wear your PE kits!)
It would be great to see even more children bring their reading books to school next Wednesday.

Maths

This week we have started our unit on addition and subtraction. The children have been working hard to learn  their number bonds to 20, as well as using number lines to add numbers together. It would be brilliant if you could practise one-digit + one-digit addition at home.

English

We are focusing our English work around a book by Simon Batrum called "Bob and the moon tree mystery”. This week, we created detailed plans in order to retell our own version. We have completed two sections of our story so far, and will continue writing it next week. So far, the children have worked incredibly hard. I can’t wait to read their full stories once we are finished!

Topic

This week, we have learnt about another inspiring astronaut, Mae Jemison. Why not ask your child why she is significant?
In Science, we experimented with changing a range of materials, and checked if we could bend, twist, stretch or squash them. The children added some brilliant details to their findings, I was so impressed with their scientific vocabulary!

Homework

For now, homework will consist of weekly spelling tasks on Teams, as well as Maths activities on Sumdog and TT Rockstars.

Please check your child's bag as logins for all these resources have been sent home.

If you have any questions please use Teams as a communication tool or email the office to make an appointment.

PE

PE will be on Wednesday at the moment. Please send your child to school in their PE kit on Wednesdays.
