The school day at Manchester Road starts at 08:55 and finishes at 3.25pm. This ensures that the children are in school for the compulsory 32.5 hours recommended by the DfE.

Children in nursery and foundation stage are brought into school by their class teacher at 08:45

The KS1 and KS2 doors open at 08:40, and are closed promptly at 08:55.

If any children are late for school, they must report to the main office so that they can be added to the late book.

In foundation Stage dinnertime is from 11:40 – 12:30

The school day for foundation stage ends at 3:15pm, and the children are picked up from the rear entrance of the foundation stage building.

In key stage 1 the children have playtime at 10:25 – 10:40, and dinnertime is from 12.00 – 12:50, they also have an afternoon play from 2:05pm – 2:15pm.

The KS1 children finish school at 3:20pm, and are picked up from their specified class exit at the end of each day.

All foundation Stage and Key stage one children must be picked up from school by a responsible adult.

In KS2 the children have playtime from 10:30 – 10:40 or 10.40 - 10.50 and dinnertime from 11.50 - 12.45, 12.00 - 12.50 or 12:15 – 1:10pm.

KS2 children finish school at 3:20pm, and make their way out onto the junior playground from their designated exit.

Although the KS2 children are let out of school by themselves, we do make it clear to children that if they are expecting an adult to pick them up, and there is no one there, they must return to school where we can contact an adult for them.

Throughout the day, children will take part in many learning opportunities. In KS1 and 2 the children have assembly on Monday, Thursday and Friday at 9am – 9.20am, followed by mathematics and English in the morning. During the afternoon the children take part in a whole range of learning including history, science, music, dance, PE, RE, ICT and geography.

Every Friday is a class assembly, and parents will be invited in by their children to come and watch and then spend some time in the classroom afterwards.
