Hi everyone and welcome to our first blog of 2020!

Miss Andrew and Miss Evans have really enjoyed this week - the children have worked so hard in all of their lessons and have been making some great progress!

English

This week we have been writing diary entries, based on our class text 'The Journey'. We wrote in role of one of the children and conveyed the emotions they would have felt to be leaving their home and travelling to a new destination! The children have really focused on using some great figurative language and have displayed some fantastic writing skills.

Maths

This week we have continued to work on multiplying and dividing fractions. We then moved on to fractions of amounts, where the children used their times tables knowledge to help them.

Science

Following on from our learning about adaptation, this week the children have been researching the life and work of Darwin and his theory of evolution through natural selection.

Super Learning Hero!

Thomas! For producing a fantastic diary entry which was presented beautifully and included all of the features from our rubric! Well done! We are very proud of you!

Poppy! For contributing lots more in class discussions and really coming on in her confidence! Well done!

Extraordinary Zone!

Jessie! For showing real dedication to writing and up-levelling and improving her diary entry to make it the very best it can be!

New PPP ambassadors!

Congratulations to Lara and Elizabeth who have been chosen as our new PPP ambassadors for this term! We know they'll do a fantastic job!

Dance and PE

This term the children have dance on a Wednesday afternoon and PE on a Thursday morning! The children must have their PE kits on both of these days!

SATS boosters!

Boosters have now started every Monday and Thursday night after school until 4pm. These sessions are really helpful for the children to recap previous knowledge and revise areas they may feel need more work!

Have a lovely weekend and we will update you again next Thursday!
