Our attendance for was 99%. Let's see this improve!   We had 4 late marks.

In English, we have continued with our text Into the Forest. We have now planned our scripts and begun to write them. We recapped on the features and had a go at performing to ensure we are clear on what we need to produce. We can't wait to finish these next week!

In Maths, we have continued with multiplication and division. We have been busy dividing, multiplying and spotting patterns. We have worked systematically to find different ways and recapped over previous knowledge such as place value. We have continued to place a focus on times tables and have been busy practising at the start of each lesson. Please try to practise as much at home too!

In Science, we started our new unit all about Forces. We are so excited to test different materials to find which ones are magnetic. Our first lesson was theory based and we have discovered what a force is and what happens to objects when a force is applied. To find out more information please follow https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/znmmn39

We also completed a graphic organiser to display the learning we will be completing this term. We can't wait to have a go at this at the end to see what information we can recall.

In French, we learnt the names of the main characters from the Christmas Nativity. We then used this knowledge to perform the Christmas Nativity. We completed scene 1 and are looking forward to performing scene 2.

In our topic, Droylsden Detectives, we took a walk around Droylsden to spot the landmarks. We kept a tally of how many transport modes we spotted and also what physical or man-made features we saw.

In R.E, we continued our learning on leaders. This week we looked at the Prophet Muhammed and created a mind map about his qualities.

In Music, we have been using the drums with Mr White and are developing our understanding of rhythm and pitch.

In Reading, our text was all about Recycling and how to keep our Earth clean. We had some great discussions about why this is important.

Our Learning Hero assembly was awarded for always displaying beautiful manners, sharing ideas and working well with others!

Key information:

Swimming is EVERY MONDAY. PLEASE ensure that your child's clothing is labelled and they are given a bag to carry this in. We have had lots of items go missing and this would help us greatly.

P.E is EVERY WEDNESDAY. Again please ensure a full kit is provided each week. This can remain in school and children can take it home at the end of term.

Home Learning is given out on Wednesdays/Thursdays. Children are expected to complete this by the following Monday. If this is not completed then they will be expected to attend home work club.  Online resources such as Active Learn https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0 and Times Table Rockstars https://ttrockstars.com/ support children in the development of key comprehension and times table fluency.
