Our attendance for last week was 95%. Let's see this improve! We had 2 late marks.
In English, we have worked incredibly hard and shown such determination when writing our scripts around the events that happen in our focus text, Into the Forest. We have included adverbs, stage directions, 2 A sentences, emotion comma sentences and many, many more! Next week we will be selecting our favourite scene to copy up before performing these.
In Maths, we have started our new unit all about MONEY! So far we have ordered amounts and made different values using different coins. Next week, we will be adding and subtracting amounts which will help refine our shopping skills!
In Science, we conducted our own investigation to find out which materials are magnetic. It was such fun testing the different objects available. Before beginning, we thought about an investigative question, equipment and made some predictions.
In French, we have started to learn the names of different foods. We worked in parents to identify key fruits and other snacks. We can't wait to learn more next week!
In R.E, we developed our knowledge of moral dilemmas and identified these in different parables.
In Music, we have been using the drums with Mr White and are developing our understanding of rhythm and pitch.
In Reading, our new text is all about Pollution and how this can and is affecting our world. We thoroughly enjoy our non-fiction texts especially when they are about the world around us.
Our Learning Hero assembly was awarded for creating humour and engaging the reader when writing her playscript. Well done!

Key information:
Swimming is EVERY MONDAY. PLEASE ensure that your child's clothing is labelled and they are given a bag to carry this in. We have had lots of items go missing and this would help us greatly.
P.E is EVERY WEDNESDAY. Again please ensure a full kit is provided each week. This can remain in school and children can take it home at the end of term.
Home Learning is given out on Wednesdays/Thursdays. Children are expected to complete this by the following Monday. If this is not completed then they will be expected to attend home work club. Online resources such as Active Learn https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0 and Times Table Rockstars https://ttrockstars.com/ support children in the development of key comprehension and times table fluency.
Reading books are changed as much as possible throughout the week. The more we read the better writers we will become so we encourage as much as possible but expect at least a book to be changed once a week.
