What a strange week this has been! Despite the stress, confusion and upset, the children have been amazing, as per usual!! They are such a wonderful bunch and I wish we weren’t going to miss out on our time in Year 4.

We have had a busy week, full of assessments, history, science, R.E, art and more! It has been an absolute blur.

This week we have had a lot of fun investigating the function of the digestive system! After the investigation your children may dislike bananas now...sorry. Here are a few images to show our learning and fun!

From now on, the majority of children will be taught at home, with the provided packs. Please stick to the timetable, and access TTRS and ActiveLearn regularly. These packs provide 4 weeks of work, two before the Easter Holidays and two after. We will be online via Team Meet. You will receive the login details and information on how to access this as soon as it is ready. Each day a Year 4 teacher will be uploading an overview of which home learning tasks should be completed that day. You can also refer to your contents pages for this information. We will then be available for questions if you have any. Please bear with us at the beginning as this is a whole new experience for us all.

In addition to the learning packs, there are plenty of websites to access, many of which are now free. Please check the @MRPAYear4A twitter for updates and ideas. We are also suggesting that the children take part in daily exercise. The Body Coach TV on YouTube will be running daily sessions to join in with, starting from Monday 9am.

If your child would like to do some extra writing during the home learning period, I would love to receive some letters from the children during their time away from school.

Please remember to listen to the Government Guidelines in order to keep yourself and family safe and we hope that we will be back to some form of normality sooner rather than later.

I would like to thank all the parents and carers for your understand and support at this difficult time. We will continue to keep you updated.

Celebration of the children!

The children have worked so hard this week and deserve to be celebrated for how they have conducted themselves this week! I am very proud of them!

Our learning hero is Max for his ability to manage distractions this week and his improved perseverance with work. Max has worked really hard this week and it was brilliant to see the amount of effort he has put into his work to make it of high quality. Well done!

Also these two girls need to be celebrated for their love of reading. They have managed to complete their reading miles journey in four weeks, Well done girls and I hope you keep reading while you are at home and continue to use your active learn accounts.

Hopefully see you all soon and we can continue on our learning journey in year 4 together.
