What a fantastic start to our year in Little Owls. We are so pleased with all our children and how much they have come on in these 8 weeks. We have done so much and learnt so many things. From Nursery Rhymes, counting and numbers to dough discos and Spark your Speeches. We hope the children have enjoyed their start to Nursery as much as we have.
In our final week we have been reading 'We all went on Safari'. Looking at different animals and counting them. We used the book to say the animals names in Swahili and count in Swahili too. We have been looking at numbers 1 and 2 and the different ways they can be represented (numicon, fingers, tens square etc). We continued with alliteration and some of us have been learning some letter sounds. (c and m).
Each week we have a BLP Learning Hero, our Learning Hero is a child who has shown one or more of our 4 R learning powers (reciprocity, resilience, resourcefulness, reflectiveness).
This weeks Learning Heroes are Lewis (AM) and Lennon (PM). We also found out who our Gold Card Champions are. Gold Card Champions are children who have been showing their 3 P's (Pride, Positivity and Politeness) throughout the half term. Our Champions are Evie and Sophia. Well done to you all!
Home Learning books will be collected on a Monday and we will share their learning and any weekend news.
At home with you Little Owl you can:
*Go on an Autumn walk. What can you hear? What can you see? Encourage your child to use a full sentence.
*Read in an extreme or silly place. E.g: On a swing or upside down.
*Look for numbers in around you. Where can you see them? What numbers can you see?
*Enjoy spending time with your family and friends.
* Please put names in jumpers and cardigans.
* Please bring wellies in for your child. We try to go out in all weathers.
*A donation towards additional snack can be paid on ParentPay.
*We will return to school on Monday 4th November.
We hope you have a fantastic week! See you all soon!
