This week in maths we have been learning about repeating patterns using 2D and 3D shapes. The children enjoyed solving the missing shapes from the repeating pattern. We have started Place Value up to 20. We are learning to count forwards and backwards starting from different points. Also, working out missing numbers in a number line. Matching numerals to the words. To help at home you could count with your child to 20 and play a fun game of recognising numerals and words up to 20.
In English, we have started a new book and have held sentences and corrected sentences with missing punctuation and spelling mistakes. The children have worked hard on their handwriting and presentation skills.
In history, the children learnt about homes in Victorian times and how life was different for the different classes of people. They produced some super sentences.
PSHE was about recognising the qualities desirable in a friend. We considered the importance of being a good friend to others.
