This week we continued with Jack and the Beanstalk. We have been using the story map to tell our story, asking the Giant questions, talking about how the Giant might have felt about Jack taking his things and drawing his face. We also came up with ideas for a new character to replace the Giant. We had some great ideas, a dinosaur, a ninja turtle, spider girl and a vampire. We have been exploring patterns in Maths, continuing patterns and creating our own. Owls learnt two new sounds this week 'n' and 'p'. We explored alliteration and listening for initial sounds.

Owls have finished creating their Bedtime Book Bags and have taken them home this week with a story to share with their grown up. Children got to choose their 1st book either with their grown up or with Mrs Sheridan or Mrs Wagstaff. We would like to thank the parents/carers who came to listen to us retell Jack and the Beanstalk. The children did a great job!

During Independent Learning, Owls have painted beanstalks, observed and discussed the changes to cress seeds, continued and created 2 colour magic bean patterns, retold the story in the role play area and enjoyed completing jigsaws.

Home Learning

At home with your Little Owl you can:

*Look for different patterns around you. Can they create a pattern with their toys or colours? car, brick, car, brick.

*Talk about what happened to our cress seeds. How did they change? What do you think they may look like on Monday?

*Read your Bedtime Book.

*See if your owl can spot our new sounds 'n' and 'p'.

Please feel free to tweet any home learning and we can share in class.
