What a final week we have had learning about our changing planet for Eco Week!

The children began the week learning what climate change is and the impact it is having.

We then looked at the greenhouse effect and the gasses involved. We talked about the human impact of agriculture, burning fossil fuels and the industrial revolution.

The organisation we researched was Green Peace. The children rated Green Peace on how successful they were at promoting change.

The main topics of this week were deforestation and the melting of the Polar Ice Caps. We worked with 4B to demonstrate what deforestation was doing to animals and the rainforest by becoming a rainforest and wood cutter. Our big question in science was 'How is the melting of the polar ice caps affect the sea level?' Here are some picture of our experiment.

We even learnt about David Attenborough and created our own speeches to go with his clips!

For our art project this week the children have been learning to sew. They are not finished yet but are looking amazing so far!

In English we have been finishing off our 5 part story from Tom's perspective. The children have been very resilient and produce great stories that have been a joy to read.

Have a brilliant February half term!
