The children have been working very hard this week in Eco week. We have been learning all about the motto Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We created mind maps about these terms. We learnt about packaging symbols and used these to sort rubbish into correct recycling bins. We then reused our rubbish and created collages. We also created persuasive posters to encourage people to recycle, and protect our planet.
In Maths, we have finished our work on multiplication, and started our work on division. We have been grouping objects to help us work out answers. Please practise counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and encourage your child to access timetables rock stars in order to improve their skills.
Don't forget to check our twitter @MRPAyear2A for photos and updates.
Our attendance last week was 97.3%, well done for being above our school target. We also had 6 late marks. Remember, learning starts at 8:45!
Our gold card champions this half term were Evie, Benjamin and Amelia. We had 11 Reading awards, for children who have brought their book in every week - Darcey, Benjamin, Matthew, Corey, Jake, Kingsley, Amelia, Chloe, Lexie, Ella and Maisy. Two Teacher Awards were given to Matthew and Kingsley, who have changed their reading books every day!! Jace also received a bookworm award for working so hard in BRP sessions.
Our winning house was Passion, and our championship point winners were Isabelle in first place, Maisy in second place, and Ella and Bella in third place.
