Hi

Its been wonderful getting back to 'some kind of normal' in school the past week. The children have adapted to our changes very well and are getting more efficient at all the new routines we have put into place to keep everyone safe. We are constantly reviewing and adapting our policies to make sure we are doing the best we can within the perimeters set out. One important and welcomed change is that we will be sending reading books home next week. They will be give out on a Wednesday and will need to be returned the following Wednesday to be changed. Reading is so important and we really do ask that you support us in supporting your child by reading frequently at home. Should you wish to read more books please log on to active learn where there are plenty more books to read and rewards will be given.

MATHS

This week the children have been recapping previous learning by counting within 20 and 50 and comparing numbers using the <> = signs. We will move the learning forward next week by working with numbers up to 100. Activities to support this learning can be found on SUMDOG.

ENGLISH

We have been trying to develop children's resilience this week and encourage them to complete their work. After a long time at home some children have found getting back into writing challenging.  However they have shown perseverance and determination ( with a little encouragement). We have focused our English work around a book by Simon Batrum called Bob, a day in the life of the man on the moon. We have asked and wrote questions, wrote descriptions and learnt what expanded noun phrases are.

TOPIC

We have learnt what significant means and found out that there are many significant people who have had a huge impact upon our world today. The most popular was Steve Jobs. Ask you child why they were thankful for his contribution to our world.
Homework

For now homework will consist of weekly reading, spelling  on TEAMS and maths activities on sumdog and tt rockstars.

Please check your child's bag as logins for all these resources have been sent home.

If you have any questions please use TEAMS as a communication tool or email the office to make an appointment.

PE

PE will be on Wednesday at the moment. Please send a full kit onto school and we will return at the half term break for a wash. Welcome back blog
