Hi everyone! Time for our weekly update! We can't believe how quickly this week has passed!

English - We have read chapters 1,2 and 3 of our text 'Carrie's War' and are absolutely absorbed in the story! So far, we have followed the Carrie and Nick - brother and sister - who have been evacuated from their home and sent to the countryside. Miss Evans has taken the siblings under her wing and made them feel welcome in their new home however, Mr Evans (her strict older brother) hasn't made the children feel welcome and has been trying to enforce his rules on them in an intimidating manner. We can't wait to find out what happens next!

Maths - This week we have been looking at coordinates, reflection and translation. The children completed several lessons around these areas before applying their knowledge to a range of SATS questions. The resilience the children showed while tackling these questions was amazing!

Topic - This week the children have been looking at 'The Holocaust' with Mr Hoyle and have been thinking about the experiences of all involved.

Super Learning Heroes!

Miss Andrew's star was Regan: For displaying excellent resilience and creative flair in his writing.

Miss Evans' star was James: For improved efforts in all of his learning, in particular his writing which was really impressive.

Well done to the both of you - we are really proud!

Extraordinary Zone!

Ella: For some fantastic home learning around WW2.
