We've had a wonderful week learning about Chinese New Year.   We learnt about the traditional tale that explains how the years got their names and the children have enjoyed writing about how the rat won the race.  We've also looked at China on a map, and some of the landscape features.  We've seen some great walls of China being made in construction!  We've also found out how people get ready for their New Year celebrations - cleaning the house, decorating the house, and having special food.  It's all been great fun.

In maths we have been learning about making repeating patterns, and we're looking forward to the fun the children will have next week practising this skill.

A big thank you to Sue for giving all of the children a set of chopsticks for them to take home.

Congratulations to our Learning Heroes this week: Oliver and Bobbie - super effort from them both this week.

Hedgehogs' attendance was 85.3%

Rabbits' attendance was 98.9%

The Rabbits win again this week! Well done!

The home learning this week is to find out a fact about wolves - where they live, what they eat, how big they grow...any question your child would like answered.  The children learn that they can get information from different sources, so how did they find their fact?  From the internet, a video, a book?

There are still some children who don't have a PE kit, or don't have a full PE kit.  It is very important that they learn how to get changed, and dressed again, so they do need the kit to be able to practise.

We have just booked our farm trip for the next half term - information will be sent out at the start of next week.  We will be needing parent/carer helpers, so if you're free we'd love to have your help.

Have a lovely weekend.
